Leisure Futures and strategic alliance partners Amarna Pty Ltd have joined forces in the development of a software development company. MentorCom Pty Ltd will focus on the development of interactive software targeted at the sport, recreation and leisure sector. Following twelve months research, software development and testing MentorCom's Parks and Recreation Management System (PRMS) is about to be launched on the Australian market. Specifically developed to aid Local Governments manage a vast array of Parks, Sports Fields, Open Spaces and all associated facilities, this secure web based software is set to cost effectively allow Local Government's to establish a one-stop-shop for Parks and Recreation information. MentorCom Director Paul Hemmings describes PRMS as a "breath of fresh air in data base management. The introduction of PRMS will allow Local Governments across Australia and the world to mange their Parks and Recreation with greater ease and efficiency. This system also provides Local Governments with reporting capabilities that provide the necessary rationale for open space development and funding applications."

Leisure Futures working with the Western Australian Department of Sport and Recreation
Following the successful delivery of Seqwater's Recreational Strategy, Leisure Futures and strategic alliance partners Amarna Pty Ltd are now assisting the Department of Sport and Recreation in Westerner Australia in assessing the recreational aspects of water catchments within the Southern Highlands. The first stage has seen Leisure Futures and Amarna deliver a study that assessed recreation in and around Australian public drinking water sources and their catchments.
Hinze Dam Rowing Feasibility
Leisure Futures have recently completed a feasibility study that assessed the potential for the re-introduction of an international length regatta course on Hinze Dam. The study assessed the capacity of the dam as an event and training venue. Working in closes association with stakeholder user groups and Hinze Dam stage three development project managers SKM, Leisure Futures delivered a detailed feasibility within the requested ten day time line.
Logan City Council Community Facilities Study
Leisure Futures are currently work along side Opus International in the delivery of the Rochedale South Community Centre and Shailer Park Youth Facility Feasibility Study and Concept Design.
Tennis Facilities Needs Analysis
Working in close association with Moreton Bay Regional Council Leisure Futures are undertaking a analysis of existing tennis facilities and utilisation within the Morton Bay Council and surrounding areas. The study will produce several mapping layers outlining future tennis facility requirements, locations, and surfaces and supporting infrastructure. The study is also looking at the provision of school courts within the region and the current levels of community use.
Leisure Futures working with strategic partners Amarna have recently been awarded a major planning and management contract with Seqwater.
The purpose of the project is to develop a comprehensive regional recreation strategy that allows recreation to be managed in a sustainable and environmentally responsible manner.
Ipswich City Council has recently commissioned Leisure Futures to undertake a Feasibility Study for a City Wide Equestrian Centre.
The purpose of this study is to provide Council with a clear understanding of the current and likely future demand for a City Wide Equestrian Centre, together with reliable estimates of one off capital and on going operational costs. Leisure Futures have also recently worked with Council in the successful completion of a Strategic Development and Management Plan for tennis within the Ipswich region.
Following the successful development of the State Tennis Centre Strategic Plan, Leisure Futures have recently completed an Economic Forecast for the forthcoming Brisbane International Tennis Event.
Leisure Futures commissioned to develop the Strategic Plan for the State Tennis Centre
Leisure Futures are delighted to have been selected to develop the Queensland State Tennis Centre Strategic Plan working with Tennis Queensland and Queensland Governments Department of Sport and Recreation the planning includes the development of a detailed Facility Maintenance and Asset Management Plan.
Leisure Futures have been appointed to develop a Sports Facilities Plan for the Southern Region of Redlands Shire
The Facility Plan process will provide a comprehensive plan for the strategic development of sport and recreation facilities in the southern end of the Shire. It will make recommendations for the upgrade of existing and new facilities including the consideration of a new regional facility. The process will ensure that facility development is strategically planned to maximise community benefit, maximise utilisation of grounds and facilities for sport and recreational purposes, and develop enhancement of natural elements, to meet the needs of Council, Department of Natural Resources & Mines, users groups, general community, and visitors.
Leisure Futures are currently undertaking a Community Facilities Strategic Plan for Dalby Town Council and Wambo Shire Council.
Leisure Futures are developing a Master Plan and Strategic operating model for Pittsworth Shire Council. The Master Plan relates to the Pittsworth Leagues Club Recreation Area.
Leisure Futures and Amarna develop sport and recreation plans for Torres Strait
Engaged by the Torres Strait Regional Authority Leisure Futures and Amarna are currently in the final stages of preparing individual sport and recreation plans for twenty Torres Strait Islands. Extensive island level consultation, surveys and individual facility inspections has enabled Leisure Futures and Amarna to develop core levels of equitable provision for facilities, activities, equipment and skills across all of the Islands. The project is expected to be finalised in September 2006.
The Hinkler Hall of Aviation takes another step towards reality
Leisure Futures are currently working with Interpretive Solutions on the next stage of the proposed new Hinkler Hall of Aviation project. This A$5 project is being funded by Government at both State and Federal levels. The Hinkler Hall of Aviation will be unique, offering on one site the ability to view and obtain a real understanding of the historical, social, technical and physical impact arising from the achievements of one of Australia's leading aviators. The Experience will be both a cultural and educational attraction, catering for students or tourists alike. Leisure Futures are working with Bundaberg City Council in the development of an in-depth financial and operational analysis that will culminate in a sustainable operating and financial model for Hinkler Hall of Aviation.
Leisure Futures commissioned by Gold Coast City Council undertake stage two of major sport and recreation plan
Following Leisure Futures and Amarna's level of success in conducting stage one of the Gold Coast Regional Sport and Recreation Facility Development Plan, Leisure Futures were appointed to undertake stage two of this major project. The Regional Associations Development and Facility Plan was initiated by Gold Coast City Council to identify, analyse and document the present and future developmental needs and facility requirements for 13 major sports (both at a local and regional level) across the Gold Coast Region. The 13 sports identified for stage one of the project were determined from the Gold Coast City Council Major Sports Facility Needs Assessment and 5 Year Development Strategy 2000 - 2005 Report.

As part of the Regional Associations Development and Facility Plan the consultants, in conjunction with the Regional or local sporting organisations, developed Strategic Direction Documents for each of the sports involved. The specific sport Strategic Direction Documents assisted the sports to determine their future facility needs as well as key priority areas which required developing.
The Regional Associations Development and Facility Plan includes: a snapshot of each of the sports, identified new regional facility requirements and local level facility requirements. This information has been assessed to determine the sustainability and qualify the needs of the sports. A Service Delivery Framework has also been provided to guide Council in providing suitable levels of service to local and regional organisations within the sport.

Aquatic Facility Planning Gains Momentum
Following the successful completion of aquatic facility studies for a number Councils in NSW and the Northern Territory Leisure Futures are delighted to be back on home ground and are currently undertaking aquatic studies for Jondaryan and Dalby Councils. Both studies involve feasibility and master planning.
Leisure Futures Assisting Suncorp and Brisbane City Council
Leisure Futures are currently working alongside Suncorp and Brisbane City Council in the development of food, beverage and concierge services for the new Brisbane Square Office Tower. The 40 storey tower will be occupied by close to four thousand employees (1,800 Suncorp - 2,000 Brisbane City Council). Leisure Futures are assisting Suncorp and Brisbane City Council in the delivery of a range of food and beverage services and are also working with Suncorp on the establishment of concierge services to guests and employees.
